Marie A. Bookman, a magistrate commissioner for Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, also has been a practitioner specializing in both plaintiff and defense litigation for over 15 years.
This native of New Orleans, received her BS degree from Loyola University and her JD degree from Loyola Law School. She has been an adjunct professor at Tulane Law School since 1991. She also served as a deputy city attorney in the litigation department for New Orleans for 12 years, handling lawsuits in wrongful deaths, personal injury, fire, contract and other serious and complex liability cases, either personally or in a supervisory capacity.
